Petra by Night
While Petra by Night provides a truly magical experience, it is not covered by the standard entrance ticket. The event runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening, beginning at 8:30 PM, and transforms the Siq and Treasury into a breathtaking spectacle lit by 15,000 candles. This unique after-dark adventure offers a completely different way to appreciate Petra – though it requires a separate ticket.
Tickets can be bought at the Petra Visitor Center or through many hotels in Wadi Musa. That said, this experience isn’t for everyone. Some travelers find it overpriced, particularly after a full day of exploring the ancient city. Yet, for those seeking a more atmospheric and serene encounter with Petra’s wonders, it’s an option worth considering.
